IPL Intense Pulsed Light
Treatment for age stains (face and hands) and small blood vessels
Clinica Premium has renewed its IPL equipment with one of the most advanced systems, allowing more precise and complete treatments for all its patients. IPL, or Intense Pulse Light, is a technology similar to laser. Instead of a single wavelength of light as with a laser, IPL uses a bright light, in front of which filters are placed, which filter out most of the wavelengths except those captured by pigment and blood vessels, depending on the filter used. Light energy penetrates just below the skin’s surface, affecting melanin (skin pigment) or blood vessels.
The body’s natural skin repair mechanisms remove occluded pigment or vessels and produce a smoother, brighter and more homogeneous appearance of skin. It will generally take 3-6 treatments to see a significant result and treatments can be spaced every 3-4 weeks. IPL is recommended to treat pigment (age spots on the face and hands, freckles, pigmented spots, lentigines or melasma) and small blood vessels (such as telangiectasia, rosacea, redness.)
It also allows gentle photorejuvenation parameters, with minimal post-treatment effects. The advantage of IPL systems is that downtime is usually minimal.
